If I were to choose a headline it most likely would be "Mother Nature KO's Jackson County". In the past two weeks we have had tornadoes, freak rain storms and almost biblical flooding. Thousands of acres of farmlands have been destroyed. In the fields, water is all you could see to the horizon. The city of Seymour itself was hard hit by the floods and almost 1/4 of the city was evacuated due to the raising floodwater's. Other local townships were not as lucky as we were. Simple things as power, water and phones were effected for weeks after wards. I, myself just had my phone service re-established. Utility companies are still working to fix damaged lines, telephone poles etc. A simple task of purchasing goods, was made impossible due to the down lines and most local retailers were unable to process credit/debit cards even in the areas unaffected by the floods.
Now as the flood water are receded, we can only survey the damage and remember that areas that are not normally effected by floods can be. B*
